Surely, you have seen the Green Dot icon that appears on labels of single-use glass packaging that you purchase in shops and supermarkets. This symbol means that the company that manufactured the glass packaging is financing the glass packaging recycling system -managed by Ecovidrio complying with the Extended Producer Responsibility Principle- with a fee for each glass packaging that it puts on the market.
The recycling chain transforms waste into cullet, which is a valuable raw material for manufacturers of new glass packaging. Bear in mind that glass is fully recyclable and, therefore, is completely reincorporated into the production cycle.
A commercialisation process that provides income to maintain the system also arises in this transformation of waste into raw material.

As a non-profit entity, at Ecovidrio we reinvest the entirety of our income into managing the recycling of glass packaging waste guided by principles of efficiency, sustainability and transparency. Our objectives are measured by the increase in collection and recycling rates. We produce no profits.
